Branch Closure
On Saturday, May 17, the Potrero Branch Library will close for a much needed renovation.  Please join your neighbors and friends, Library staff and City officials, including City Librarian Luis Herrera, for a celebratory closing party from 1 to 3 p.m.; food and entertainment will be provided.
While the library is closed bookmobile service will be provided on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1502 Mariposa Street on the north side, adjacent to the Jackson Recreation Center building.  Services include borrowing and returning materials, reserving or picking up materials, and obtaining or renewing a library card.

According to the San Francisco Public Library, “Joshua Ferris’ 2007 National Book Award Nominee for Fiction is a wickedly funny debut novel that introduces us to a cast of characters in an unnamed Chicago advertising agency coping with a business downturn in a classically corporate way: through gossip, elaborate pranks, sordid romances, and increasingly frequent coffee breaks.”

May Children’s Programs
Storytime for Children, from birth to four-years-old, is Thursday at 10:30 a.m.  On May, 1, 8, 15, the program will be at Potrero Branch Library. On May 22 and 29, Storytime will be held at St. Teresa’s community meeting room at Connecticut and 19th streets. Enter on Connecticut Street.

The Potrero Branch Library and the bookmobile will participate in the Starr King Health and Resource Fair, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Stop by to pick up information about the school’s resources, the library’s Summer Reading Club Program, get a library card, and check out, or order materials.

Potrero Library Campaign
The Potrero Neighborhood Library Campaign Committee meets monthly to discuss fundraising strategies and progress. If you’d like to participate in this committee, or host a house or a garden tour please contact Tina Tom at Friends of the Library 626.7512, extension 106, for the date and meeting place.
