June 2008Letter to the EditorFriends of Potrero Hill Nursery School Dear Editor, In a letter that appeared in last month’s View, Friends of Potrero Hill Nursery School (Friends) described our efforts to secure a home in our community for the coming school year. We’re pleased to announce that San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and Starr King Elementary School have offered to let us to stay in our current location in Room 100 at Starr King for one more year. This commitment gives us much needed time to find a permanent home for the pre-school. We would like to thank Superintendent Carlos Garica, his staff members, SFUSD School Board staff, Starr King Principal Chris Rosenberg and his staff, Supervisor Sophie Maxwell and her fellow Board members, and City Attorney Dennis Herrera for their assistance in resolving, in such a positive manner, our immediate situation. We’ve now turned our attention to finding a permanent home for Friends in our community which will allow us to continue to provide education and parenting support to Hill families and children for many years to come. Please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts or suggestions. Thanks to everyone in our community who has assisted us over the past 12 years.
