Police Blotter

November 15, 10:30 p.m., 17th and Rhode Island streets:  A victim was robbed while waiting for the bus by several suspects who brandished a gun.  The victim stated that the suspects pointed a gun at him, took his backpack and money, and fled.  The victim wasn't injured during the robbery.


November 14, 9:49 a.m., Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, 600 block of Minnesota Street:  Officers Chow and Doherty responded to 22nd and Minnesota streets regarding a burglary suspect.  The officers spoke to a witness who stated that the suspect attempted to sell him a bicycle. The witness also stated that he recognized the suspect from a burglary poster he'd seen.  The officers located the suspect in a garage nearby and placed him into custody without incident.


November 12, 8:50 p.m., Texas and 17th streets:  A victim was robbed while walking on the street with her friend. A suspect got out of a car and approached the two, demanded money and attempted to take the victim’s phone.  The victim turned from the suspect and ran up the street while screaming for help. The suspect walked across the street, got back into his car and left the area.  No one was injured during the incident.


November 12, 12:16 a.m., Stolen Property, Warrant Arrest, Burglary of a Residence under Construction, 1300 block of DeHaro Street:  Officers Cowhig and Masilang responded to 25th and DeHaro regarding a suspicious person.  The officers detained an individual who was holding a cordless drill, saw and a charger, while attempting to trim bushes on the street.  The suspect explained to the officers that he thought the bushes needed to be cut, and so he thought he would test the tools he’d found, by trimming the bushes.   Officers located a witness who stated that the suspect had taken the tools from a construction site. Officers also discovered an outstanding warrant for the suspect.  The suspect was placed into custody and transported to Bayview Station.


November 5, 2:03 p.m., Possession of Loaded Firearm-Weapon, Concealed, 25th and Connecticut streets:  Members of Bayview’s plainclothes team were driving when they saw a subject who they believed to be concealing a weapon.  Upon seeing the officers, the subject turned and walked quickly in the opposite direction.  Officer Scott told the subject to stop, at which point he began to run.  Officer Scott chased the suspect and saw him drop a gun onto the ground, which the officer immediately seized.  Officer Kirchner joined the chase, tackled the subject to the ground and placed him into custody without further incident.  The suspect suffered minor injuries and was treated by medics at Bayview Station.


November 1, 1:55 a.m., Mariposa and Indiana streets:  Two victims were robbed after leaving a dance club by three suspects who took car keys from one of the victims. One victim was punched in the head and kicked about the body. The other victim was punched in the face.  Both victims were treated by medics at the scene.
