Police Blotter

October 8, 6:42 p.m., Vandalism to a Vehicle, 1000 block of Kansas:  Officers Skaug and Chiang responded to a call regarding a person who was banging on a car.  The officers located a subject, who a witness said had thrown a bicycle at the windshield of a KRON 4 News van, breaking the glass, and causing additional damage.  The officers detained the subject, who resisted them and spit on the window while sitting in the back of the patrol car.  No one was injured during the incident.


October 3, 7:03 p.m., Possession of a Gun by a Prohibited Person, Turner/Texas fire road:  Officers Johnson and Ochoa were in plain clothes in the area of Turner Terrace when they saw numerous subjects standing on the sidewalk.  The officers got out of their vehicle, and one of the subjects immediately broke away from the group.  The officers chased the subject for a distance, and took him into custody. Officer McCormick, who responded to assist, located a gun that had been thrown down by the suspect as he was being chased by the officers. The suspect and gun were transported to Bayview Station for further investigation by the Gang Task Force and Homicide Detail.  One of the officers involved in the arrest suffered cuts to his hands and legs during the apprehension of the suspect.  The officer and suspect were medically evaluated and released.


October 3, 11:14 a.m., 2400 block of San Bruno Avenue:  Officer Hargreaves was dispatched to a store regarding an attempted robbery.  Hargreaves spoke to the manager, who stated that a suspect had concealed numerous items that she took from the shelf and shoved them into her purse.  The manager confronted the suspect, who threw the items on the ground.  The suspect’s friend then pulled a stun gun from his pocket and threatened the manager with it.  The manager, fearing for his life, let the suspect leave the store.  Officer Hargreaves did not locate the suspect.
