Anchor Brewing Tour: Experience a taste of San Francisco’s history with a walking tour of Anchor Brewing, a world-renowned brewery dating back to the California Gold Rush. Space is limited. Financially Savvy Seniors: Start the New Year right by learning how to prepare for your retirement with this free workshop. Led by a financial expert from the Consumer Credit Counseling Service, this class will cover identity theft, using technology to manage money, Medicare, Social Security, improving cash flow in retirement, insurance, investing, estate planning and more. Tuesday, January 12, 6 to 7 p.m.

Chair Yoga with Connie Scott: Learn yoga poses and breathing techniques to create strength, flexibility and balance while practicing in and being supported by a chair, . No yoga experience necessary. Thursday, January 14, 1 to 1:45 p.m.

Clothing Swap: Bring your clean, gently used clothing to the library for a clothing swap.  Tired of your wardrobe?  Come by the clothing swap to pick up something new.  Clothes for all ages are welcome. Thursday, January 14, 1 to 1:45 p.m.

eReader and Tech Help: Librarians will answer your questions about downloading eBooks and questions about your library’s free digital collections. Wednesday, January 20, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Come to learn how to use this fabulous resource at your local library. Tuesday, January 26, 6 to 7 p.m.

Programs for Teens

Game On!: Play video games on our big screen in the Potrero meeting room! Ages eight to 18 welcome. Tuesdays, 4 to 6 p.m.

Coloring for Relaxation for Tweens, Teens and older: Holidays are stressful. Reset and decompress for the New Year with the latest artistic trend: pattern coloring.

Come and join us while we choose from a variety of pictures and have a stress-relieving evening of coloring. Colored pencils and markers will be provided. For ages 10 and up. Wednesday, January 13, 6 to 7.30 p.m.

Programs for Children

Saturday Snacktivity: With food provided by Whole Foods Market Potrero Hill, we’ll offer a wholesome snack followed by a fun activity. All ages welcome. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Baby Rhyme and Play Time: Songs and rhymes for infants up to 18 months old and their caregiver(s). Tuesdays, 1:15 p.m. and Thursdays, 11.15 a.m.

Family Story time: Featuring stories, songs and rhymes. For children from birth to five years old and their caregiver(s). Thursdays, 10:15 to 10.45 a.m.

Lego Free Play: Get creative building with LEGO. We provide all the pieces you’ll need to create vehicles, robots, castles, and more. Saturday, January 2, 3:30 to 5 p.m. 

The Tides and Climate Change (hosted by Eco-Center): Learn about the tides and the San Francisco Bay, and the challenges of climate change. Interactive experiments for children will illustrate concepts of the effects of climate change on the bay. Best for children 6+. Saturday, January 9, 3:30 to 4.30 p.m. 

Movie and Meal Day: In partnership with the Potrero Hill Family Support Center (PHFSC), we will present a family-friendly film, and PHFSC will provide a meal. Our selection for January is Bolt. Rated PG. 96 minutes. Friday, January 15, 3 to 5 p.m.

Lion Dancers:  Year of the Monkey, 4714. Celebrate the Lunar New Year at the San Francisco Public Library with a Chinese Lion Dance and Martial Arts Performance.Saturday, January 23, 3 to 3.45 p.m.
