Thanks to Webster’s Parent-Teacher Association President, Beth Gould, Webster was the only San Francisco school to participate in Chalk4Peace. Even a rainy day didn’t stop Webster’s students, parents, and teachers from chalking out their visions for a more peaceful planet. Started in 2005 in Washington, DC, Chalk4Peace is an international event. This year more than 20,000 participants chalked on 2,000 sites on four continents. Chalk4Peace isn’t an anti-war demonstration; rather, it’s a creative presentation for artists of all ages based on the theme of Peace. Whole Foods, a Chalk4Peace sponsor, provided the main BBQ fixin’s, and Webster families brought a scrumptious array of side dishes and desserts to make the day even sweeter. |
