I declare tinted automobile windows the scourge of pedestrians, bicyclists, and car drivers.  Gone is the “excuse me” or “I see you” back and forth that eye contact engenders.  Instead, many cars have become dark fortresses, their drivers anonymous, their attention and intention unknowable.

Doesn’t the law prohibit tinted glass in front seats?  If not, why not?
